English-French/Spanish/German Dictionaries for iPod
Thanks to the efforts of the
Internet Dictionary Project,
I have made a set of foreign language dictionaries which translate
from English to French, German and Spanish for use on the iPod.

Installation instructions:
- Download the
dictionary archive file.
- Attach you iPod to your computer (Mac or PC), and run iTunes if
it is not already running, or if it does not start
automatically.
- Enable iPod disk use (see
here
for more details).
- Locate your iPod on your computer. On the Mac, it will appear
on the desktop; on the PC, well, you crazy guys are on your own
(check the filesystem in Windows Explorer, I’d guess).
- Navigate to the Notes folder.
- Unzip the the file downloaded in step 1.
- Copy the French, German and Spanish folders into the Notes
folder (or whichever ones you want to use).
- (Optionally, disable disk use via iTunes.)
- On your iPod, choose Extras→Notes from the main menu, then
choose the dictionary to use. Each entry in the resulting list can
be selected to view the corresponding dictionary entries; the names
of the dictionary files specify the first and last English word in
that particular file, for ease of navigation.
Problems?
I am aware of a few small problems (e.g. some accents are
incorrect), but if you have more problems, then please contact me.
