Building a british.hash file for ispell

I had problems getting AquaMacs Emacs to use British spellings. It seems that ispell didn’t have a british.hash file. The following explains how to use buildhash to make a british.hash dictionary file.

Do the following:

• ftp ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/ispell-english.zip
  
• unzip ispell-english.zip
  
• cd ispell-english
  
• buildhash british.med+ english.aff ./british.hash

Then copy british.hash to somewhere ispell can find it (on OS X from Darwin Ports, this is likely to be /opt/local/lib/
