!!!Maintenance in Progress!!!

Dr Chris Rose

I am a Research Associate at the University of Manchester in the UK. I work in the Quantitative Biomedical Imaging Lab in the Imaging Science & Biomedical Engineering Research Group in the Faculty of Medicine. Under the supervision of Prof. Geoff Parker, my research project aims to develop biomarkers for Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DCE-MRI).

Previously, my PhD research—supervised by Prof. Chris Taylor—explored building statistical models of the appearance of mammograms for synthesis and analysis. One of the ultimate aims of such work is to allow reliable automated detection of breast cancer.

Research Interests

I am particularly interested in developing and applying methods of analysing data from cancer imaging. Specifically, I have worked on modelling, analysing and synthesising shape, appearance and texture.

Please see my publications for more details of my work.

About Me

In 2005 I was awarded a PhD by The University of Manchester; my thesis title was “Statistical Models of Mammographic Texture and Appearance”.

Before beginning my PhD I graduated from the same institution with a 2:1 BEng (Hons) degree in Electronic Systems Engineering.

My current research is funded by GlaxoSmithKline; my PhD was funded by EPSRC as part of the MIAS-IRC.
